John Cameron Urschel (born June 24, 1991) is a Canadian-born American football guard for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL), who has also published peer-reviewed articles in mathematics. He was drafted by the Ravens in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Penn State. He also has bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from Penn State. ==College career== Urschel attended Pennsylvania State University, and played for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team from 2009 to 2013. A starter in all 24 games in 2012 and 2013 and the anchor of the offensive line, he was elected a 2013 co-captain and was among the eight Nittany Lions who had earned their degrees prior to the start of the season. In 2013, he won both the William V.
